DEMOCRACY

People in the U.S.A. won’t be choosing ‘the next leader of the free world’ (nor anything even vaguely along those lines).
Most of ‘the world’ doesn’t have a vote in America . . .

They'll be choosing the leader of the biggest military/industrial complex in the history of the world.

But someone doesn't become my leader just because he or she is president of a powerful country.

Damn right. They give much more coverage to the American elections, where we are helpless onlookers, than to the European elections, where we are the electorate. There's only one answer - don't buy newspapers. Since this is an unrealistic answer, then let's campaign to make April 1st the day we don't buy newspapers. Sorry to go on about it.
