It's one of those odd things . . . I live in my little house by the sea and listen to the radio and reckon I know best about more-or-less everything . . . as I keep telling the news-casters, the policiticians and all the experts interviewed there. I shout quite loud - but I'm beginning to suspect they can't hear! Sometimes, I write to my MP . . . but there's always more to say. So, here it is!

I couldn't help laughing when we went to pick up my dad's ashes at the Birmingham crematorium several years ago. There was a notice that said:
'This is a no smoking area'.
Hello VP!
It's good you were able to laugh.
I appreciate that!
And it shows a lack of sensitivity and imagination in those who put up such signs.
(Missing sense of humour too!)
I've been trying to chase up a comment Ken Livingstone made about funerals at crematoria being like supermarket check-out points.
So far, I've failed.
But he's right.
They are.
