I'm afraid I don't agree with you on this one, Susan. I think it's a good idea for the Games to circulate among the nations of the world, giving everyone the opportunity to show off their country and its people. The problem lies in the fact that the Games are now so big and therefore so expensive that hosting them is virtually impossible for the majority of the world's countries. I also believe that they have shifted from being a celebration of human sporting achievement to being a political battleground, which is a betrayal of their historic origins.
It's one of those odd things . . . I live in my little house by the sea and listen to the radio and reckon I know best about more-or-less everything . . . as I keep telling the news-casters, the policiticians and all the experts interviewed there. I shout quite loud - but I'm beginning to suspect they can't hear! Sometimes, I write to my MP . . . but there's always more to say. So, here it is!
