First, blogs are a powerful way of reaching a lot of people - which means bloggers can have an out-of-proportion-influence if they are read widely.
Second, bloggers are a self-selecting group. We may think our opinions are representative - when they aren't.
Third, the interactions between the those who write blogs and the people who read them can be so absorbing - it might be easy to forget the vast numbers of people who don't have the money, or the time, or the knowledge, or the ability, or the inclination to participate.

It's one of those odd things . . . I live in my little house by the sea and listen to the radio and reckon I know best about more-or-less everything . . . as I keep telling the news-casters, the policiticians and all the experts interviewed there. I shout quite loud - but I'm beginning to suspect they can't hear! Sometimes, I write to my MP . . . but there's always more to say. So, here it is!
