PARENTS AND CHILDREN

There have always been teenage mothers.

Yes!
And possibly more support from family. I don't know, I am only going by what I have read but it does seem that support from relatives living nearby was more forthcoming, grandmothers probably had more time to help ~ and there was almost always a matriarch available for timely advice.
(I'm not really sure where I am going with this)
I haven't been around for a while and am only just now catching up with blogs I enjoy. Nothing awful I hasten to add, just life in the hectic lane!
Best wishes
Rosy

Good to hear from you Rosy.

I'm thinking there may be too much emphasis at present on the disadvantages associated with teenage parent-hood, a constant suggestion there is something un-natural, or bad about it - when throughout much of history I would guess it has been the norm. Maybe the circumstances of families rather than their age matter more.

On the news, the other day, they were saying how sad it is that grandparents are losing out economically because they are helping to look after grandchildren whose parents go out to work. That too seemed an odd complaint for I would have thought this is a fairly human and natural arrangement.
